Srinagar, Dec 17 (UNI) A total of 419 Haj pilgrims, including 142 women, from Jammu and Kashmir left here for Jeddah in two special flights today.

The pilgrims were seen off at the Srinagar Airport by senior officials of the state administration and the Haj Committee.

With this, a total of 8, 295 people from Jammu and Kashmir have proceeded on the Haj pilgrimage so far.

About 10,674 pilgrims from the state would be able to perform the Haj this year as compared to 9,200 in 2005.
