Three HMK activists held

Coimbatore, Dec 16 (UNI) Police arrested three members of the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) while they tried to stage an agitation in front of the Peelamedu Airport here demanding shifting of the Periyar statue from infront of the Rajagopuram of the Sri Ranganatha Swami Temple at Srirangam, today.

The agitators also demanded release of six HMK activists who were arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) in connection with the desecration of the Periyar statue recently.
