K'taka: Sadananda Gowda unanimously re-elected
Bangalore, Dec 16: Brushing differences under the carpet, the BJP in Karnataka today unanimously re-elected Mr D V Sadananda Gowda as the party State President for another term.
Mr Gowda was the only person to file the nomination for the post, after State party leaders held extended confabulations with the party central leadership last week and decided to bury the hatchet.
Simmering differences were witnessed in the party, with rival factions headed by BJP General Secretary H V Ananth Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa battling for supremacy.
The result would be officially announced tomorrow.
Later, talking to newspersons here, Mr Ananth Kumar said the unanimous election had sent across a clear message to the people of the State that the BJP was united and strong. It showed that the BJP was a disciplined party and there were no differences among the leaders.
