PM Manmohan Singh to visit Punjab on Dec 19

Jalandhar, Dec 16: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will pay a two-day visit to Punjab on December 19 and 20, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has said.

Mr Singh would arrive at Amritsar on December 19 evening to hand over the historic Govindgarh Fort to the Civil administration the next day. He would also pay obeisance at the Golden Temple.

Mr Singh would also launch an industrial development project in Goindwal town of Amritsar district.

Later he would interact with groups of progressive farmers at Jallowal nursery near here.

The Prime Pinister is also expected to lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of Ludhiana's Halwara Airport, Capt Singh added.
