PM had chance meeting with former US President Bush Sr
Tokyo, Dec 16 (UNI) ''How are you getting on with my son?'' asked former United States President George Bush during a chance encounter with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his hotel here last night.
''Very well,'' Dr Singh told Mr Bush, who is the father of current US President George W Bush.
''It was a very pleasant meeting,'' the Prime Minister later told journalists who accompanied him on the trip to Japan.
The former US President was in Tokyo on a private visit along with his wife and they were staying in the same hotel -- Four Season -- where the Prime Minister was staying.
When Mr Bush found out that Dr Singh was also in the same hotel, he expressed his desire to meet him.
When the Prime Minister returned from the talks with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe last night, the two met in the hotel lobby and spent some time exchanging pleasantries and notes on Indo-US relations, sources said.
''If he has poor table manners, I am not to be blamed...that is my wife's responsibility,'' the sources quoted the senior Mr Bush as saying, pointing to Mrs Barbara Bush, who was with him.
