Imphal book fair to attract visitors

Imphal, Dec 16 (UNI) Hundreds of people went to the 15th Imphal Book Fair which was opened last evening at Imphal.

However, due to a strike called by anti-dam protestors, all programmes at the book fair were postponed, the organisers said today.

Art and Culture Minister P H Parijat had inaugurated the ten-day fair organised by the State Central Library of Manipur, Library Association and Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library foundation, Kolkata.

About 100 stalls, including 19 from Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati have exhibited their books in the fair. The organisers said in order to attract visitors, special discounts would be given.

Book release functions, meet the writer, competitions would also be organised.
