French visa application fees to be revised soon

Puducherry, Dec 16 (UNI) As per the decision taken by the European Council on June 1, 2006, the French visa application fees would be revised with effect from January 1, 2007.

According to a press release from the French consulate here today, the fee for Schengen Visa (transit and short stay) would be Indian rupees equivalent to 60 Euros, while it would be rupees equivalent to 99 Euros for long stay.

For short stay visas to French overseas territories destinations (New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna Island, Mayottee etc) it would be rupees equivalant to Rs 9 Euros, and for long stay for child adopted by French parents it would be rupees equivalant to 15 Euros.

Children younger than six years and school children in school excursion, school children, students, teachers accompanying a study trip or educational training and scientific researchers travelling were exempted from the payment of visa fees, the release added.
