FACT CMD resigns

Kochi, Dec 16 (UNI) Fertilisers and Chemical Travancore Limited (FACT) Chairman and Managing Director Dr G C Gopala Pillai today announced his resignation citing personal reasons.

Speaking to reporters on his arrival from New Delhi where he announced his decision, Mr Pillai said the resignation was tendered to the Union Fertilisers Ministry Secretary on December 7.

He also categorically denied any difference of opinion with the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ram Vilas Paswan.

He said the decision to put in his papers was on health and personal reasons.

Dr Pillai was appointed CMD of FACT in 2005. He was also the Managing Director of Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation. Dr Pillai, who has a PhD in management from the University of Kerala, has worked for over 30 years in various sectors.
