CM performs 'bhoomi puja' for Shilpa Sandhya Vedika

Hyderabad, Dec 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today performed bhoomi puja for the 'Shilpa Sandhya Vedika' (night bazaar) at 'Shilparamam', on the city outskirts.

Later, addressing the gathering he said this would be the second night bazaar in the country after the one in Delhi. He said the state government would take all steps to promote tourism in the state.

State Tourism Minister J Geetha Reddy said the 'bazaar' would be set up on three acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 10.5 crore with Central assistance.

She said out of the 10.5 crore, the Centre had sanctioned Rs five crore under Central Financial Assistance and had already released Rs four crore as first instalment. The Tourism Department would spend Rs one crore and the remaining amount of Rs 4.5 crore would be provided by 'Shilparamam'.

She said, 250 stalls in five thematic zones of 'Azma', 'Dravya', 'Vedic', 'Sultanat', 'Adhunik' with 50 stalls in each zone and a cellar for car parking, and food courts, spiral water falls, fountains, sunken garden, play areas landscaping would also come up in the bazaar.

Construction would begin from January next and would be completed by June 2008.
