BJP criticises UPA's policies

Guwahati, Dec 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today alleged that the UPA Government's "casual approach about the country's sovereignty will have disastrous effect." In a statement here today, BJP North East Zonal Organising Secretary V Satish said, ''The way UPA, under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is handling the issues like Nuclear Deal, Chinese claim over Arunachal Pradesh and Muslims, will be disastrous for our country.''

Mr Satish has cited three issues, which were presently being debated in the country. These are Nuclear deal, Chinese claim over Arunachal Pradesh and Sacchar Committee's report and Prime Minister's statement in the NDC that the Muslims have first rights over Nation's resources.

''It is clear that the country's interest is not at all safe in the hands of the UPA leadership and they are ready to compromise to any extent to fortify their vote bank, keeping in mind the Assembly elections in early part of 2007,'' Mr Satish said in the statement.
