ZNP demands resignation of CM, HM

Aizawl, Dec 15 (UNI) The Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) has condemned the Mizo National Front (MNF) and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Zoramthanga and his deputy Home Minister Tawnluia.

A ZNP political affairs committee which was convened yesterday, has demanded the resignations following a court ruling that the MNF ministry had paid ransom to insurgents for kidnapping the victims.

The meeting concluded that since it was a court ruling that had revealed the MNF as paying off ransom despite denials by the government, both Zoramthanga and Tawnluia should admit their misdemeanours and have the courage to resign from office.

It also said it was because of help from insurgents that the MNF party had regained power which has resulted in these incidents of kidnapping.
