Water discharge increased from Stanley reservoir

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 15 (UNI) Water discharge from the Stanley reservoir at Mettur across river Cauvery was stepped up for irrigation purpose.

State PWD sources said the discharge was increased to 12,000 cusecs.

The water level in the reservoir stood at 111.320 ft this morning as against its full capacity of 120 ft.

The inflow into the reservoir was 4,165 cusecs.

From Grand Anaicut in Thanjavur District the discharge would be increased.

About 101 cusecs of water was let out into river Cauvery, 504 cusecs into Vennar, 1,310 cusecs into Grand Anaicut Canal and 100 cusecs into Coleroon river, they added.
