UT admn makes user identity compulsary for cyber cafes
Chandigarh , Dec 15 (UNI) The Chandigarh administration has decided to prohibit the use of cyber cafes by unknown persons, whose identities have not been established by the owner of the cafe.
The Cyber cafe owners will maintain a register for identity of the visitor/user by making the entry of visitor's name, address telephone number and identity proof, an official release today stated.
The visitor/ user shall also sign the register kept for this purpose. The identity of the visitor/ user shall be established through an identity card, voter card, ration card, driving licence, passport or photo credit card.
The cafe owner will maintain an activity server log and it shall be preserved in main server and its record shall be preserved for at least six months. The owner of the cyber cafe has been directed to inform the police station if any activity of the visitor is of a suspicious nature.
The cafe owner has also been asked to maintain record about the specific computer used by the visitor.
