UP police bust gang involvd in making forged High Court orders

Lucknow, Dec 15(UNI) Uttar Pradesh police has busted a gang involved in making forged orders of the Allahabad High Court and arrested a section officer of the in this connection police today said.

The police, team led by DSP Rajeshwar Singh, investigated the matter after a FIR was lodged of forgery in a case related to dowry death in Pilibhit district.

Justice Amar Saran of the Allahabad High Court stumbled on the scam while hearing the criminal case of Amit Rastogi vs state when forged orders, allegedly issued by the HC, were used to bail out Amit by his father Hari Shanker in the dowry death case.

The police team arrested Bechan Prasad, a section officer of the HC, on December 11 for issuing the forged orders.

Earlier, the HC constituted a high level committee to effectively persue other cases pending in file pertaining to forged orders of the High court.
