Three injured in inter-factional clash in Kohima

Kohima, Dec 15 (UNI) Barely a few minutes after the Speaker adjourned the House sine die, rival NSCN factions exchanged gun fire about 200 ft below the Assembly Secretariat yesterday, creating panic in the entire town.

Official sources today said the NSCN(K) cadres raided a base of their rival NSCN(IM) in the New Market area and in the ensuing gun battle three NSCN(IM) cadres sustained injuries.

Police recovered a few empty cases of AK-47 rifle.

The staccato of gun shots were clearly heard from the Assembly Secretariat, but fortunately the Speaker, Ministers and officials had already left the complex after the session was adjourned.
