Tamil teachers meet will discuss IT learning, teaching

Chennai, Dec 15: The World Tamil Teachers Conference to be held here on December 17 would discuss the use of Information Technology in learning and teaching.

The two-day conference to be organised by the Tamil Nadu Elementary School Teachers' Federation would also exchange views on how to teach and learn Tamil, using the latest developments in Information Technology, Mr S Easwaran, conference organisor told newspersons here.

As ''Paperless education'' would come to stay in about ten to 12 years, there was a need to innovate fresh teaching materials and upgrade the knowledge of teachers on latest developments.

He said about 600 delegates, including 40 Tamil teaching teachers from Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Canada and Australia would participate in the conference.

Mr Easwaran said through ''Tamizhkalam'', the official website of the Federation, about 25,000 people throughout the world were learning Tamil.
