Students Unions have no right to set up units on campus

Kochi, Dec 15 (UNI) Kerala High Court today held that students unions have no right to set up units on the college campuses.

A Division Bench comprising Justice K S Radhkrishnan and Justice K Padmanabhan Nair, made this observation, on a writ petition filed by the manager, SNM college, Maliankara and others.

They approached the HC seeking a direction to the police to give adequate protection to the life and property of the students and saff of the college,render necessary assistance to prevent outsiders from entering the campus and prevent the the Students Unions from setting up units or indulge in any kind of political activities within the college campus, including disrupting classs as part of an agitation.
