SC adjourns hearing of Parliament attack case
New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Supreme Court has again adjourned the hearing of the review petition filed by Shaukat Hussain Guru, sentenced to ten years' imprisonment for his involvement in Parliament attack case conspiracy.
Shaukat was given death sentence by the trial court which was confirmed by the Delhi high court.
The apex court, however, converted the offence to section 123 IPC and reduced the death sentence to ten years' rigorous imprisonment in 2005.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal yesterday adjourned the hearing of the petition seeking the review of the the apex court judgment on the grounds that he was never tried for an offence under section 123 IPC ( spreading hatred against the duly elected government) and hence the judgment of the Supreme Court deserved to be reviewed and he is entitled to acquittal in the case.
The hearing of the petition was adjourned earlier also.
