Sardar was above politics: GPCC chief

Karamsad, Anand, Dec 15 (UNI) Gujarat Congress today paid tributes to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his anniversary of death.

Speaking at a function organised at Karamsad memorial near here, GPCC chief Bharat Solanki said Sardar Patel fought fought against religious intolerance.

Leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly Arjun Modhwadia, while paying tributes to the Sardar, said it was time that the philosophy of the great leader was propagated to every part of the country.

Educationist and writer Vidyut Joshi said Sardar's role was not only limited to freedom struggle but he also helped several institutions financially, including Gujarat Vidyapith. Sardar's contribution to the nation's cause is immense, he added.
