Rtd Justice S P Rajkhowa to inquire Moirabari Incident

Guwahati, Dec 15 (UNI) The Asom Government has appointed retired Kolkata High Court judge S P Rajkhowa to head the Commission of Enquiry to probe the November 18 Morigaon incident in which three people were killed .

The Commission will enquire into circumstances leading to the incidents of violence, arson and police firing in Moirabari police station area.

The Commission will ascertain the reason behind the firing and would look into whether there were any lapses on the part of police and administration in timely handling of the situation.

The Commission would suggest measures to be taken up so that such incidents did not recur.

The Commission will submit its report to the government within six months, official sources said.
