Postal Inspector lands in jail

Patna, Dec 15(UNI) The special CBI judge of Patna R S Rai today awarded two and half years of rigorous imprisonment to a postal inspector in a bribery case.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2500 against the convict.

The designated judge found postal inspector Hari Shankar Chowdhry guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to the charges, convict Chowdhry was arrested by the CBI sleuths while recieving Rs 2500 as bribe at Siwan district for transfer and posting of a reserved postman on September 21,1995.

Chowdhry was posted as a postal inspector in Siwan middle division at that time.
