Nautica opens store in Chennai
Chennai, Dec 15: Nautica, a leading global lifestyle brand with products ranging from men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories, has launched its flagship store in the city, the first here and the fourth in the country.
The 2,700 sq ft showroom, set up, involving an investment of about Rs one crore, showcases Nautica's winter 2006 collection, VF Arvind Brands Vice President Sumeet Yadav said, adding "Nautica is a perfect fit for the fashion conscious consumers." Through this flagship store, VR Arvind brands hopes to strengthen its committment to the most valued aspect of our business, the consumers, he said.
Mr Yadav said the company proposed to open one more store in Pune by January and one more in Delhi. 'Home' section was unique to the Chennai store and soon the Banglore store would be expanded with a 'Home' section.
"We have not set any sales target, but we would strive to make Rs 50 to Rs 60 a sq ft per day. As the Indian consumers were exposed to global economy, the lifestyle is fast changing and they aspire for the best brands in the world," Mr Yadav said.
The company proposed to spend 14 per cent of its revenue for advertisement and marketing in the first year and eight to 10 per cent in the subsequent years, he added.
