Naik Kuldeep Yadav of ASC C
Bangalore, Dec 15 (UNI) ASC Centre and College (ASC C and C) riders started their campaign on a winning note, with Naik Kuldeep Yadav bagging the gold in Jumping-Novice Normal (Individual) event on the inaugural day of the Junior National Equestrian Championship at Embassy International Riding School on the city outskirts today.
Yadav, riding 'Trishul', overcame stiff competition from Aditya Krishna of the Chennai Equestrian Academy (CEA), rider of 'Gautamala'. Havaldar Girdhar Lal, also of ASC C and C and riding 'Viking', had to be content with the third place.
Over 200 horses and top-level Indian riders, who have been shortlisted for the Asian Games, including Nadia Haridass, Aliya Dasgupta, Ranvir Nanda and emerging equestrian talents like Aviva Bidapa, Karan Virwani and Adam Oberoi, were vying for the top honour in the 15-day championship. Besides, four international teams from Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Iran were also competing.
Results: SIEC Dressage Elementary: Dfr. Bhoom Singh (66 Cavalry) 'Mastan' First, Abhishek Chopra (Equestrian Centre for Excellency) 'Pronto' second, Havaldar Lakhbir Singh (Assam Rifles) 'Red Rum' Third.
NEC Jumping-Novice Normal Individual: Naik Kuldeep Yadav (ASC C and C) 'Trishul' first, Aditya Krishna (CEA) second, Havaldar Girdhar Lal, (ASC C and C) third.
Team: 61 Cavalry first, Karnataka second, ASC C and C third.
