Musical fountain soon at Raja Seat
Madikeri (Karnataka), Dec 15: This tourists paradise will soon get an added attraction, with the Horticulture Department getting Rs 35 lakh sanctioned from the Karnataka Government for setting up a musical fountain in Raja Seat, a famous garden here.
The technical work has been started by the Bangalore-based BNA Technology and Consulting Ltd. The project was expected to be completed in March next in time for the horticultural show. The proposed fountain would be bigger than the one installed at Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, according to sources in the department.
Seven music packages -- Karnataka music, folk music, Hindi music, pop music, special Kodava songs, a devotional song on river Cauvery and songs on late Field Marshal Cariappa's march -- would be used in rotation each day. On Republic Day and Independence Day, patriotic songs would be played, the sources said.
Besides, illumination at the garden at a cost of Rs 1.5 lakh, amphitheatre type arrangement at Rs four lakh, new granite stone chairs and fencing at Rs 3.5 lakh would also be taken up, they added.
