Mushrif blames Patil for tiff between him, Mandlik
Kolhapur, Dec 15 (UNI) Maharashtra School Education Minister Hassan Mushrif today blamed Jansurajya Party MLA Narsinh Gurunath Patil for a spat between him and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Sadashivrao Mandlik.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Mushrif, a NCP leader, said the differences between them arose over the election for the post of chairman of the Kolhapur District Central Co-operative (KDCC) bank.
He said Mr Mandlik, whose daughter is married to Mr Patil's son, wanted to elect Mr Patil as the chairman of the KDCC, but NCP, whose 17 members are on the board of the bank, opposed the move and instead elected the party candidate T R Patil as chairman, thus defeating MLA Patil on December 9.
The Minister said this infuriated Mr Mandlik, who began making adverse remarks against him soon after the bank's election. Even his effigy was burnt in his home constituency (Kagal tehsil) by Mr Mandlik's supporters.
