MSTTA president to represent India at ITTF meet
Pune, Dec 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Table Tennis Association (MSTTA) president Rajeev Bodas has been selected by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) to represent India for the Junior Development Committee.
A MSTTA release here today said the ITTF has bestowed the honour on Mr Bodas for his concerted efforts towards the development of the game specially at the junior level in the country.
Mr Bodas will also attend the ITTF Junior Development meeting, to be held at Cairo, during the ongoing World Junior Table Tennis championship, the release said.
The Indian junior team earned the right to take part in the world junior TT meet after getting the better of Chinese, Taipei 3-2 in the Asian Junior Table Tennis championship held at Kishukota (Japan) in September.
Four top teams qualify for the Japan meet to participate in the World Junior championship at Cairo.
Ashlesha Bodas has made it into the Indian girls team after she posted a creditable win over K Shamini of Chennai in the South Asian championship held at Delhi earlier.
Besides Bodas, the other team membres are K Shamini (Chennai), Neha Agarwal (Delhi) and Soumi Mondal (Kolkata).
Monalisa Mehta and Smita Bodas will accompany the team as coach and manager respectively, the release added.
