Mobile ATM inaugurated in Kerala
Kottayam, Dec 15 (UNI) Travancore Devaswom Board President Raman Nair inaugurated the Mobile ATM launched by the bank in Kerala to serve the Ayyappa Pilgrims going to Sabarimala temple here today.
Talking to newspersons Andhra Bank Chairman K Ramakrishnan said the Mobile ATM was one of the unique innovative E-venture of Andhra Bank and the first of its kind in Kerala. The thumping success of the Mobile ATM at Hyderabad had given the bank the impetus to spread the wings of mobile ATM to other states, he added.
The Mobile ATM would cover Kottayam, Chengannur and Pathanamthitta, enroute to Sabarimala. All bank ATM cards under arrangement and cards with VISA and Master logo could be operated in the mobile ATM. Mobile ATM would run up to January 31, 2007 in the region and later at other centres in the state, during festival season like Thrissur puram.
Earlier the bank opened its 21st branch in Kerala at Vyttila, Ernakulam with ATM facility. This branch would focus on catering the total banking requirements of NRIs.
Besides 21 branches, the bank had 3 extension counters and 6 ATM counters in Kerala, targeting a business of Rs 600 crore for the fiscal 2006-07.
