Minister denies WBPDCL's request for Santaldih expansion project
New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Ministry of Power has not yet received any request from West Bengal Power Develoment Corporation Ltd (WBPDCL) for the linkage of coal for its 250 Mega Watts (MW) Santaldih expansion project, Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Mr Shinde said the long term coal linkage for power project at Katwa, Sagardighi and Bakreshwar was considered by Ministry of Coal's Standing Linkage committee (Long Term) on May 11, 2006.
However, the committee did not grant long term coal linkage for these projects, as coal blocks had already been alloted to WBPDCL to identify end use projects of the allotted coal blocks and submit application for tapered coal linkages in case of any shortfall, he added.
