Karunanidhi condoles death of Anton Balasingham

Chennai, Dec 15: Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today mourned the death of LTTE ideologue Anton Balasingham in London yesterday.

In a condolence message here, the Chief Minister said he was not able to bear the loss of Mr Balasingham, with whom he was long association.

Despite being ill, Mr Balasingham's heart was with the Sri Lankan Tamils. He worked closely with the Norwegian Peace Committee to find a peaceful solution to the ethnic crisis, he said.

An intellect and a hard worker, he preserved the self-respect of Eelam Tamils till his last breath, Mr Karunanidhi said and expressed his condolences to Mr Balasingham's wife and friends.
