High Court clears decks for BCCI meet, CAB plea dismissed
Chennai, Dec 15 (UNI) Decks have been cleared for the conduct of the Special General body Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, (BCCI) to be held in Jaipur tomorrow, to discuss its disciplinary report on former Board President Jagmohan Dalmiya and the course of action to be taken against him, with the Madras High Court today rejecting a plea to restrain the BCCI from conducting any meeting.
Ms Justice Chitra Venkataraman dismissed the petition filed by Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) which sought to restrain the BCCI from conducting any meeting.
In her order, the judge said unless there was a specific allegation with regard to the kind of prejudice that the applicant was likely to suffer, on a mere apprehension of possible prejudice that the applicant was likely to suffer, an injunction cannot be granted.
''I fail to see any justification to grant the same,'' the judge said.
