CPM activists death sentence converted to life imprisonment

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Supreme Court today upheld the conviction of CPM activist and prime accused A Pradeepan in the daylight murder of school teacher Jai Krishnan, however, commuted to life imprisonment the capital punishment awarded to him by the other courts.

A brench comprising Justices S B Sinha and Markandey Katju, however, acquitted four other convicts in the case.

The trail Court had convicted and sentenced all the five to death which was confirmed by Kerala High Court.
