Centre in process to list rivers as state subject: Soz

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz today said the Centre was in the process of listing the 'National Rivers' and including water in the list of state subject.

Talking to newspersons, Prof Soz said that the list was under prepration after adopting a 'scientific criteria' before it is brought before the Cabinet for its final nod.

About his Ministry's plans for the 11th plan, he said his ministry wanted wanted to be incharge of flood managment for which a proposal to set up Flood Management Authority would be set up under the Central Water Commission.

During the 11th five-year Plan period, flood management will be a priority, he added.
