BJP calls for Sheila's dismissal

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) Former Union Minister and BJP national secretary Vijay Goel today said the party would support the five lakh small traders at Delhi Vyapari Andolan on December 18 to demand Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's dismissal.

Addressing a news conference here, he termed the statements by.

the Congress leaders over sealing ''camouflage and a bunch of lies.'' ''Whether Jaipal Reddy, Sheila Dixit or Ajay Makan, they are all contradicting each other,'' he added.

He claimed that about five lakh small traders, running their shops in about two lakh DDA flats, faced the prospects of their premises being sealed.

It could effectively hit about twenty five lakh employees, he said, assuming each shop had five employees.

The BJP leader said the imposition of conversion and parking fee was central to the sealing drive. ''But where is the space to park against the fee?,'' he asked.

Defending the traders, he said they were all victims of Congress-led attempt to project the whole community as breaking law with impunity. ''They are all small fry in fact, forced by circumstances to struggle for their survival,'' he added.

According to him, the agitation will be a rallying point for all the small traders left with nowhere to go and nobody to turn to.
