Ancient Jain idols found
Shivpuri, MP, Dec 15 (UNI) Nine ancient Jain idols were found during digging near Nanakpur Tuki village in this district's Narwar area, police said today.
Majboot Singh Kushwah found the idols when he was digging ground at his farm for preparing foundation of his house. Some of the idols were in a mutilated condition.
Some experts believed that the idols could be 700 years old.
Narwar fort is the oldest fort in Gwalior division. Idols of deities and Jain tirthankaras were found earlier from the area.
Several kings had temples constructed in this area.
