A 70 year old man remanded to Judicial custody for staging Dharna

Davanagere, Dec 15 (UNI) A 70-year-old man was remanded to judicial custody for staging dharna in front of Lok Ayukta office here demanding an inquiry into alleged misuse of funds by Maruthi Temple Committee members at Shivagambi village in Haveri District.

Mr Jatteppa of Hirekerur taluk in Haveri District approached Lok Ayukta officials here on Thursday and appealed for registering his complaint against Temple Committee members and appealed for investigating his allegation of misuse of funds.

However, the officials refused to accept complaint and enraged over refusal Mr Jatteppa sat on dharna yesterday.

On receiving a complaint from Lok Ayukta, the police arrested Mr Jatteppa and produced before a Magistrate who remanded him to Judicial custody.
