Wife acquitted of murdering husband
Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) A local court today acquitted a woman from charges of murdering her husband, in view of ''inconclusive circumstantial evidence'' and ''doubtful'' dying declaration given by the deceased.
Additional Sessions Judge C D Gongle acquitted Maria Ferns from charges of murdering her husband.
The prosecution told the court that accused Maria, a resident of Bandra Chapel Road, stabbed her husband Eric Stanley Ferns (59) to death on the night of February 17, 2006, in their kitchen that day after they had a quarrel over an important issue.
The victim's son had rushed him to the nearby Bhabha hospital where he succumbed to his multiple stab injures, after giving an oral dying declaration to the police.
