'Tsunami-The Aftermath' to premier on HBO on December 26

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) The HBO Original two part mini-series 'Tsunami- The Aftermath', about a tale of personal loss, survival and hope premiers back-to-back on December 26 at 2100 hrs.

HBO South Asia Country Manager Shruti Bajpai said ''The Asia premier of 'Tsunami' on December 26 marks the second anniversary of 'Tsunami' which devastated the Andaman coast of Thailand in December 2004. The film is based on extensive research and interviews by writer Morgan Abi.'' She said, ''Celebrating the best of the human spirit during worst of times 'Tsunami- The Aftermath' explores the lessons for humanity raised by a disaster of such extraordinary magnitude.'' Filmed on location in Phuket and Khao Lak. Among those whose stories are followed are a Thai meteorologist whose earlier report detailing the inevitability of a tsunami hitting the affected area was ignored, an overwhelmed British official whose faith in the system is torn apart, an ambitious reporter, a relief worker to name a few.

The film is directed by Bharat Nalluri based on a script by Abi Morgan and produced by Finola Dwyer.
