Rao to quit politics if illegal land holdings are proved

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) floor leader K Vijayarama Rao today offered to quit politics if the ruling Congress could prove that he had illegal land holdings.

Irked by the allegation levelled by Congress Legislator T Jeevan Reddy during the debate on land holdings surrendered by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the TRS leader asked the ruling party Legislator whether he was ready to resign his MLA seat if he failed to prove so.

When the Congress Legislator agreed to a probe by the Lok Ayukta into the alleged land holdings, Mr Rao claimed that the Ranga Reddy District Collector had given a clean chit to him. ''I do not have any illegal land holdings'', he said offering to place before the Speaker all details of his property, if the Congress member gave a notice.
