Police recovers laptop of drowned BIT student
Ranchi, Dec 14 (UNI) The Jharkhand Police today opened the room of Abhishek Mishra, a Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) student, who drowned mysteriously on December 8 during a picnic trip to a riverine area.
He went there along with his friends, including daughter of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Ragini.
The police had sealed room of hostel at the BIT premises since the accident.
Suprintendent of Police (Rural) Upendra Prasad told UNI that Abhishek's room was opened in presence of a representative sent by his father S C Mishra.
Mr Prasad said a laptop was found and the same was kept with the Vice-Chancellor.
Meanwhile, police also recorded the statement of the two students in this connection.
Family members of Abhishek had demanded a CBI inquiry into the death of the student.
Yesterday, the BJP had submitted a memorandum to Governor Sayed Sibte Razi demanding CBI probe into the drowing case.
