Police complaint against parents of child locked up at Worli

Mumbai, Dec 14 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed the Registrar General of the court to file a complaint with the Worli Police Station against the parents of the 12-year-old boy, who was locked inside by the police and court officials yesterday when they sealed the flat.

A division bench comprising Justice R M Lodha and Justice S A Bobde ordered Bhupendra Pamnani and his wife Bharti to be charged for furnishing false information, resistance in giving up the property to lawful public servants, obstructing public officials from conducting their duties and wrongful confinement of their son Rishabh in the house, while sealing the flat.

The court also issued notice against them for committing criminal contempt of court.

The court orders were passed following the submission of the court reciever that Bhupendra and his wife had obstructed the handover to legal officials and intervened in the administration of justice.

Arjundas Kashyap and Bhupendra, who are partners, had a dispute and they moved court in October 2004. The court asked Bhupendra to deposit Rs 52 lakhs in court then, which he failed to do.

The court then directed its reciever to seal the four flats owned by Bhupendra at Jivan Vikas building at Worli but the attempts failed until mid-April, when three flats were finally sealed.

However, Bhupendra broke the seal and continued occupying the flats until yesterday when the court authorities again went to seal the premises.

Watching news on television of the boy still locked inside the house sealed by the court reciever, he was called over again to break the seal and remove the boy from inside.
