People rejected strike : PCC
Kolkata, Dec 14 (UNI) Alleging that the strike in West Bengal was government-sponsored,the Congress today said the people had rejected it.
''It is a state government-sponsored bandh as the CPI(M), administration and police ensured its success. People did not support it,'' Congress Legislature Party leader Manas Bhuniya told reporters.
He asked how the ruling Left coalition could support a strike.
Describing today's strike as destructive, he said it vindicated that the notion that Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was having a contradiction with CITU was only an 'eyewash'. ''The Chief Minister just made a drama feigning his concern about enforcing strike on the IT sector. It was to make his image clean,'' he said.
''Why Mr Bhattacharjee was a silent spectator when his labour organisation and administration obstructed railway, transport and offices forcefully,'' he asked.
