Over 39 lakh tonne paddy arrives in Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, Dec 14 (UNI) Over 39.94 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in Haryana mandis so far during this season.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said that out of the total paddy arrival, 28.67 lakh tonnes was leviable and 11.27 lakh tonnes basmati and other superior quality.
He said over 20.45 lakh tonnes of paddy had been procured by six Government agencies at the Minimum Support Price and the remaining 19.49 lakh tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders.
Mr Mohan said Hafed had procured 9.03 lakh tonnes of paddy, followed by Food and Supplies Department 6.06 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro-Industries Corporation 2.43 lakh tonnes, Confed with about 1.77 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 1.03 lakh tonnes and Food Corporation of India 11,092 tonnes.
He said Kurukshetra district was leading with about 7.31 lakh tonnes of paddy arrival, followed by Karnal with 5.74 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 5.06 lakh tonnes, Fatehabad 4.97 lakh tonnes and Ambala with 3.22 lakh tonnes.
