One dead, 50 others taken ill due to food poisoning

Rajkot, Dec 14 (UNI) One person died and 50 others fell sick due to suspected food poisoning after consuming food in a marriage party at Amin Marg.

Police said the victims fell sick after consuming food at the marriage of Divyash, son of a retired irrigation employee Ranchhodbhai Ramani last night.

The affected were admitted to two private hospitals where Vajubhai Dungarbhai Gajera, maternal uncle of the bridegroom, died today.

Vajubhai, was earlier discharged from the hospital late last night. But he complained of chest pain and stomach-ache this morning and was admitted to Gondhya hospital, where he died during treatment.

Others affected were responding to treatment and most of them were discharged today.
