Life imprisonment for burning woman alive
Betul, MP, Dec 14 (UNI) A local court has sentenced three persons to life imprisonment on the charge of burning a woman alive last year.
According to prosecution, Bakallor village-resident Jagdish Yadav's wife Kantabai was burnt alive in April, 2005, by her mother-in-law Sanjibai, father-in-law Shri Ram alias Laddu Yadav and sister-in-law Rekha.
The culprits had doused kerosene over Kantabai and set her afire.
A month later, Kanta died while treatment was underway.
Kanta had married to Jagdish eight years back. She was harassed for bringing money from her maternal home.
District and Sessions Judge Shivmangal Singh delivered the verdict yesterday.
