Govt announces sops for state/nazool land
Srinagar, Dec 14: The Jammu and Kashmir government has extended a number of concessions and benefits to the occupants of the state or nazool land under the recently issued SRO, an official spokesman said today.
The SRO pertained to land retrieving and extending ownership rights up to 10 kanals of land on concessional prices.
According to the Additional Commissioner, Kashmir, the occupants (authorised over-stayed, unauthorised expectant and unauthorised) of the state or nazool land will have to pay only 25-50 per cent of the market value under the occupation determined by the committee for residential/commercial land depending on their category.
The occupants will get a further rebate of 2-25 per cent of the determined amount if they deposit it in the government treasury.
For payment made within three months, a rebate of 25 per cent will be given while those made within six and nine months and one year will get concessions of 15 per cent, 5 per cent and 2 per cent respectively, the spokesman added.
He said for payments made within one year and three months, a penalty of 5 per cent will be levied and those made within 18 months, 21 months and two years would be charged a penalty of 15 per cent, 25 per cent and 35 per cent respectively.
As far as the educational, religious, charitable, non-profitable, and social institutions were concerned and also trusts, societies and political parties recognised by the Election Commission of India, the occupants would have to pay 25-50 per cent of the value of the land determined by the committee, the spokesman said.
He said the occupant of the state land for agriculture purpose would have to pay only 15 per cent of the market value.
The state government also issued a calendar for submitting application for vesting of ownership as per the revised schedule issued vide SRO 356 of November 23 this year.
From December 15 to 31, notices will be issued by Tehsildars concerned to occupants of the state or nazool land through Lumberdars for filing applications under the revised schemes in form 2 before January 21 next year. The last date for receipt of applications has been fixed as January 21.
The spokesman said those who filed their applications under the pre-revised scheme need not apply again.
