Chennai, Dec 14 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today announced that she might campaign for the Samajwadi Party(SP) in the coming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

''Both Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav and General Secretary Amar Singh have requested me to campaign for their party in the elections. Most probably, I will go,'' she told reporters at her party headquarters here.

Ms Jayalalithaa had called on Mr Yadav and Mr Singh during her recent visit to New Delhi and also indicated after the meeting that there was a possibility of political realignment at the national level.

Asked whether she was trying to extend a hand of friendship to the Congress by inviting its President Sonia Gandhi for the unveiling of MGR statue in Parliament House recently, she quipped ''I am not anyone's enemy. If others perceive me as an enemy, it is not my fault.'' The AIADMK supremo said her opposition was only to Ms Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister of India and not against her as an individual.

''As she has not taken up the post of Prime Minister, there is no need to oppose her. Now, she is only the leader of the Congress and it is the Congress' party issue,'' she added.
