Indus Airways operates first flight to Mumbai

Chandigarh, Dec 14 (UNI) Indus Airways made history today by operating its first ever scheduled flight from Chandigarh to Mumbai and vice versa with comfortable and convenient aircrafts and flight connections.

Indus Airways is a full service airline with business class facilities at economy class prices.

According to Capt M S Sandhu General Manager Operations, Indus Airways will operate a daily flight on the Delhi-Chandigarh-Mumabi-Goa and Mumbai-Chandigarh-Delhi sector. The Airways will make Chandigarh a major hub with direct connections to Jammu, Srinagar, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Kolkata and major cities.

Capt Sandhu said the Airliner will be operating CRJ 200 (50 seat aircraft) which offers comfort of a Jet Engine Flight. The Airliner will also be operating on the Delhi-Udaipur-Mumbai Delhi-Jodhpur-Mumbai and Delhi-Jodhpur-Mumbai routes from December 20.

Capt Sandhu said that the selling channel of the Airways is revolved around its website www.indusair-biz and General Sales Agent (India) is Khanna Express Holidays Pvt Ltd. Through their network of offices they will be appointing agents for Indus Air as well as servicing the local passengers.

The Airways had its first operations as Northern Airways, operating from the famous city of Lahore in the pre partition era.

Northern Airways then operated the famous Dakota aircrafts which were inducted in the airways in 1943.

However after partition Northern Airways was disbaned and now it has again been restored under a new name Indus Airways. The Chairman of the airliner is Dr Kapil Mohan, CMD of Mohan Meakins Ltd.
