Hindu Munnani embarks on novel protest

Karur, Tamil Nadu, Dec 14: Hindu Munnani activists embarked on a novel protest against the desecration of idols by miscreants in the aftermath of the recent incident in which Rationalist Leader E V R Periyar's statue at Srirangam was damaged.

Placing a petition before Lord Ganesha at a temple located in front of the Taluk Office here yesterday, the activists led by District President Raja prayed for stern action against those who had desecrated idols of Hindu Gods.

Elabroate security arrangements were made in view of the agitation.
