Gujarat gives final touches to 'Medical Tourism Policy'

Gandhinagar, Dec 14 (UNI) Final touches were given to Gujarat's 'Medical Tourism Policy' at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Narendra Modi here today.

It was decided that Health&Family Welfare Minister Ashok Bhatt will constitute the 'Gujarat Medical Tourism Council' and the 'chief patron' will be the Chief Minister, an official release said.

Government spokesperson and Urban Development Minister IK Jadeja and Planning Minister Saurabh Patel gave details about the aims and the roadmap regarding the future of the new policy.

They said synergy is being developed to merge tourism policy with medical facilities that is available in the state to the benefit of both, tourists and medical tourists.

The ministers said the aim of the new policy is to attract anyone from anywhere in the world, including non-resident Gujaratis and other NRIs to visit the state.

The Government is making all efforts to make the state an attractive destination for medical tourists, Mr Jadeja added.
