Ghulam Ali's ghazals enthrall the audience in Saifai

Etawah, Dec 12 (UNI) Ghulam Ali, the singing sensation who enthralled the audiences over the world for almost four decades now, once again stole the show by his most memorable Ghazal ''Chupke Chupke Raat Din Aasoon Bahana Yaad Hai..''.

Listeners were spellbound as Ghulam Ali took the center stage and unlocked the eternity of emotions that ran through his exquisite rendering of the ghazal.

Talking to UNI here yesterday, the Gazhal Ustad, who was here for a presentation during the on going 'Saifai Mahotasav' said ''my Ghazals have always tried to brought India and Pakistan closer. I find no difference between the countries as both are pots of the same clay.'' The Ghazal maestro added ''Bharat me mujhe hamesha bharpoor pyar mila hai aur hamari dili khwahish hai ki Bharat aur Pakistan ke beech hamesha bhaichara kayam rahe (I have always got love in India and I wish that the channels of communication to be always open between both the countries).'' Ghulam Ali can deservedly be called one of the most influential ambassadors from across the border, who, when he sang 'faasle aise bhi honge, yeh kabhi socha na tha' brought people from both the countries closer to one another.

The versatile singer, who along with Mehdi Hassan played a pioneering role in reviving ghazal in the seventies, said singers like Jagjit Singh and Daler Mehndi have tried to revive the relations between both the countries by giving performances in Pakistan.

''People of both the counties want to come closer to share joys as well as pains and the government of both the countries should try to comprehend their sentiments,'' he wished.
